GTA, the series organizer of F4 JAPANESE CHAMPIONSHIP, a new series which will begin in 2015, announced on December 16th that the one-make tire for FIA-F4 manufactured by Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd (Brand name: Dunlop) has be chosen as the official designated tire of the championship. Contract will be for 3 years starting 2015.
F4 JAPANESE CHAMPIONSHIP is a category which focuses on developing young drivers who are striving to be a future SUPER GT driver, and it also intends to offer rich scholarship programs along with improvement of driving skills. The operation of the series will be managed by GTA, which has a rich experience in SUPER GT, and the championship will be held as a support race of SUPER GT’s domestic races (7 events). Cars will be based on the F4, an international specification defined by the FIA, and created by the domestic constructors, such as Dome and Tom’s, as well as engine builders, parts manufacturers, etc., on top of the “craftsmanship of Japan” that each party boasts. It is a category established with not only the drivers but also the promotion of domestic racing industry in mind.
