The first to enter the track was the No. 4 GOODSMILE HATSUNE MIKU AMG (Nobuteru Taniguchi) and with eight minutes remaining in the session it recorded a time of 1’47.729 that almost beat the standing GT300 course record (1’47.717). Amazing driving gives the TOYOTA PRIUS apr GT’s Nakayama pole position

While many of the cars had taken to the track soon after the start of the session, the No. 3 B-MAX NDDP GT-R (Jann Mardenborough) had waited for three and a half minutes before heading out on the track, and the winner of yesterday’s race, the No. 21 Hitotsuyama Audi R8 LMS (Tomonobu Fujii) waited for four minutes before venturing out. On its first time attack, the No. 21 car recorded a time in the 1’47 range, and on the next lap that time came down to 1’46.121. However, the No. 3 Mardenborough was having trouble improving its times and eventually ended up in 14th position, thus putting the brakes on its chances of staying in the title race.

Just past midway through the session, the No. 88 MANEPA LAMBORGHINI GT3 (Kazuki Hiramine), Matsui in car No. 25 and the No. 31 TOYOTA PRIUS apr GT Yuichi Nakayama) had brought their times down into the middle of the 1’47 range.
