Get engaged with GT machines and drivers! TOKYO AUTO SALON 2018

"TOKYO AUTO SALON 2018" opened its curtain at Makuhari Messe in Chiba in bright and sunny day on January 12th. Known as a festival of customized cars, Tokyo Auto Salon is also a staple new year's event of motorsports industry, and many familiar automakers, teams, and sponsors of SUPER GT, such as TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, Honda, Nissan, and SUBARU, were exhibiting with fancy booth. Along with GT machines on display, talk shows and autograph sessions by GT drivers are making the event a must-see to the SUPER GT fans.

 

This year SUPER GT's promotional booth was set up in an alley on the second floor of No.3 hall. No.1 DENSO KOBELCO SARD LC500 wearing the Car No.1, which only the champion is allowed to claim, No.46 S Road CRAFTSPORTS GT-R, and No.99 NSX CONCEPT-GT (2016 model), which Honda uses for testing purpose, were put on display.

 

 

 

SUPER GT machines are on display across the venue! You can even find new machines in this year's livery.

 

 

Automaker's booths were not the only place decorated with SUPER GT machines. Teams and related sponsors were also showing the race cars on display at their respective booth. Moreover, fans got to see not only the cars that competed in SUPER GT last year, but also cars with brand new livery for upcoming season.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The off-season atmosphere made GT drivers friendlier and closer than usual.

 

 

Many companies involved with SUPER GT had exhibition booth set up at the event, and the GT drivers endorsed by or have relationship with the company were seen making a visit. Talk shows and autograph sessions were also hosted at the booths. Many booths are scheduled to host talk shows and autograph sessions on 1/13 (Sat) and 1/14 (Sun).
