On Dec. 13, GTA Co., Ltd. announced a change in the 2019 SUPER GT Series Calendar previously released on July 26.
The schedule change involves the dates of Round 8 at Twin Ring Motegi, which was originally announced as November 9 and 10, 2019. The new dates for the holding of this round will be November 2 (Official Qualifying) and 3 (Race).
The reason for the change is the change recently announced by FIA regarding the 2019 – 2020 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), which moved the Shanghai round (Rd. 3) of the WEC series up one week earlier to the same day as the originally scheduled SUPER GT Round 8 at Motegi. To avoid having rounds of the WEC and SUPER GT series held on the same day, the dates for the Motegi round have subsequently been moved up one week earlier as well.
Also, the schedule for the three 2019 SUPER GT season Official Test events has been announced. The official pre-season test sessions will be held at Okayama (March 16 – 17) and at Fuji Speedway (March 30 – 31), and the summer break test session will be held at SUGO (August 10 – 11).
