Fuji Speedway Co., Ltd. and GTA Co., Ltd. have announced that as the result of discussions between the two companies, the decision has been made that the “Official Tests at Fuji,” originally scheduled to be held on March 28 (Sat.) and 29 (Sun.), will be held as a closed event without spectators. This decision has been made in light of the Japanese government’s basic countermeasures regarding the coronavirus pandemic, as well as the recent developments in spreading cases of infection. And, as with the same decision to hold the official tests originally scheduled for Okayama International Circuit as a closed event, the intent is to help in preventing the further spread of the virus and to protect the health and safety of the would-be spectators.
We wish to extend our apologies to all the fans who were looking forward to attending the official tests and ask for your kind understanding in these unfortunate circumstances.
Meanwhile, concerning the holding of Round 2 of the 2020 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, the FUJI GT500 km RACE currently scheduled for May 3 (Sun.) and 4 (Holiday), we will continue to closely follow developments regarding the status of the pandemic’s containment, etc., and make announcements about the policy decisions and countermeasures concerning the race’s holding as they are decided.
