GTA Co., Ltd. has announced that, due to the announcements to date (as of March 26) by the prefectures of Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Yamanashi and Shizuoka, etc., that citizens should limit outings as much as possible in light of the spreading coronavirus pandemic, the decision has been made to cancel the “Official Tests at Fuji,” which was previously scheduled to be held on March 28 (Sat.) and 29 (Sun.) as a closed event without spectators. This decision accompanies the general strengthening of countermeasures regarding the coronavirus pandemic throughout Japanese society.

You will be kept informed about plans to reschedule the tests as they are made.

■Comment by GTA Chairman Masaaki Bandoh:

We have been forced to cancel the tests, which were planned to be held without spectators, due the unavoidable circumstances related to prevention of infection by the coronavirus, the announcements of the local and national governments that citizens should refrain from going out as much as possible, and out of concern for the health and safety of all persons involved. We hope that all the fans who love and support SUPER GT will understand this unavoidable decision. All of us involved in the 2020 SUPER GT season opening round are continuing in our preparations to hold the event for the sake of all of the fans who are looking forward to it. We ask for your continued understanding and support until the day when we can hold the opening race in an atmosphere that will be safe and assuring to everyone who looks to SUPER GT for the dreams and rewarding excitement it brings to so many.
