On Oct. 20, 2021, GTA Co., Ltd. announced that a change has been made in the 2022 SUPER GT series calendar (schedule) released on August 6, 2021.
The change in the calendar involves Round 6 of the 2022 series, originally scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10 at Sportsland SUGO. With the calendar change, Round 6 at SUGO will now be held on September 17th (Sat: Official Qualifying) and 18th (Sun: Race).
The reason for the change in the SUPER GT calendar is the recently released 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) schedule, which has the WEC Fuji Race scheduled for the same days as the SUPER GT Round 6 at SUGO, and in order to prevent the WEC and SUPER GT rounds from being held at the same time, the dates for the SUGO round have been moved back one week.
