【GTA Regular Press Conference: Rd.6 SUGO】 Tosei Moriyama sent off for F4 race of FIA MOTORSPORT GAMES.の画像

  Due to postponement of the Round 5 Suzuka (rescheduled to December 7th and 8th), SUPER GT is resuming at Sportsland SUGO after around 1.5-month absence. GTA Co., Ltd. held its regular press conference in the morning of Round 6 race day. At the beginning of the press conference, President and Chief Executive Officer of GTA, Masaaki Bandoh revealed that Tosei Moriyama, who is currently competing in the FIA-F4 championship, will be sent off to the F4 category of FIA MOTORSPORT GAMES 2024.

FIA MOTORSPORT GAMES is a motorsports event held and organized by the FIA and SRO (*) every 2 years where different nations from around the world come together to compete. The 2024 event, third holding, will be held at Circuit Ricardo Tormo and surroundings in Valencia, Spain from October 23rd to 27th. It is composed of different categories of motorsports and attracting increasing number of nations and drivers every time as the event expands from Europe to other countries of the world.

  In addition to the circuit categories, including F4 and GT, the event also hosts Rally, Karting e-Sports, etc., totaling 27 categories, and invites 90 nations. Competitors will be awarded a gold, silver, or bronze medal based on the results, and the nation with the highest number of gold medals will be titled the overall winner, bringing an Olympic-like essence to the world of motorsports. Chairman Bandoh explained that there will be drivers representing Japan in 5 categories, F4, GT, Drifting, Karting, and e-Sports.

 The organizer told there are entries from over 20 countries for the F4 race and drivers ranked in the upper positions in the point standing of various European F4 championships are anticipated to participate. Uniform vehicle package of a chassis built by Tatuus and a 1.4-liter turbo engine made by Abarth will be used for the race which will be supplied by the event.

 Masaaki Bandoh commented, "This is like Olympic and the request came from JAF, so we discussed with HELM MOTORSPORTS, the team Moriyama drive for, that this is a good opportunity from a perspective of developing young athlete of motorsports also, and we decided to place the entry. F4 is a race that is held at different parts of the world and I hope this can raise recognition of such event." GTA will continue to work with the event in future according to the chairman.

 He also expressed appreciation to Osaka Toyopet Corporation and Petroplan Co., Ltd. for the cooperation provided for sending the Japanese driver. Bandoh concluded by asking for support and rooting for Japanese athletes through the livecast of F4 and many other races hosted by the event via official YouTube channel and other methods.
