【GTA Regular Press Conference: Rd.5 Suzuka】 FIA's Meriaux introduced by GTA Chairman Bandoh during her Japan visit.

GTA Co.,Ltd held its regular press conference in the morning of Sunday, August 28th, prior to the race of 2022 AUTOBACS SUPER GT Round 5 and answered to representative questions raised by Japan Motorsport-journalist Society (JMS) as well as questions from the journalists present at the press conference. At the opening of press conference, GTA Chairman Masaaki Bandoh introduced Diana Meriaux, FIA Championship Coordinator, who has traveled to Japan for FIA's official visit to the event.

As a part of her role, Meriaux is visiting race events of FIA-F4 and Formula Regional held around the world for planning promotional strategies to enhance recognitions and growth of the two categories. Her Suzuka visit is for gaining insight of the FIA-F4 championship of Japan. She will be traveling to Mexico for a Formula Regional event after Japan.

The FIA-F4 championship of Japan is promoted by GTA, and the second-generation chassis and engine supplier expected to be deployed from 2024 were announced just recently at the previous event in Fuji. "It is our pleasure to have Ms. Meriaux to see how Japan's FIA-F4 is operated currently. Cars made by Tatuus are used widely in Europe, but FIA's intention for the visit is to establish firm foundation for young driver development by cooperating with championships of different countries." Chairman Bandoh explained the objective of Meriaux's visit. Discussion for the new model to be deployed from 2024 was also held, according to the chairman.

"Ohayo gozaimasu. Hajime mashite. (Good morning. Nice to meet you)" Meriaux softly opened her speech in Japanese after the introduction by Chairman Bandoh. "I am very thankful for the warm welcoming. I am glad to be able to visit the FIA-F4 championship held at such a wonderful circuit like here in my first visit to Japan. I was able to observe an FIA-regulated single-seater (race) being held at very high level. To see the success achieved here was not only encouraging but also motivated me to continue our cooperation." Meriaux commented with a smile.
