On January 21st, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing introduced its 2025 domestic motorsport program for support teams in the SUPER GT GT300 class. According to the announcement, as with last season there will be eight team using nine TOYOTA and LEXUS machines in the GT300 class. Also, in the team make-ups are the names of new drivers and machines that are sure to be the focus of much attention and expectations in the coming season. First of all, of the TGR support teams, the No. 2 team that finishing highest in the GT300 class Drivers standing at 3rd place last season, has changed its team name and car name to “HYPER WATER Racing INGING” and “HYPER WATER INGING GR86 GT” respectively, and for 2025 it will continue to use the same GR86 machine and the same driver pair of Yuui Tsutsumi and Hibiki Taira, while attempting to win back the title it failed to reclaim the last two years. Also, 19-year-old Kazuhisa Urabe, who has performed successfully in FIA-F4, will make his SUPER GT debut as the team’s third driver. As for the No. 20 SHADE RACING team, it will use the same machine and the same regular drivers Katsuyuki Hiranaka and Eijiro Shimizu as last season. And here as well, 18-year-old Yuki Sano, who also has performed well in FIA-F4 to achieve the highest ranking as a TGR driver last season, will make his SUPER GT debut as the team’s third driver. The No. 25 HOPPY team TSUCHIYA will use the same machine, while its regular drivers will be Takamitsu Matsui and Kimiya Sato, meaning that it enters the new season with its 2021 pair. The ANEST IWATA Racing team that entered the No. 50 ANEST IWATA Racing RC F GT3 will compete the new season with the new No. 26 race number. While there will be no change in the RC F GT3 machine and the first driver, Igor Omura Fraga, the other regular driver will now be the veteran driver Hironobu Yasuda, who won the GT300 championship title in 2008. Expectations are high for his return performance in the GT300 class with this team. The apr team will again enter two cars in the 2025 series, the No. 30 GR86 and the No. 31 LC500h. Car No. 30 will be driven by the returning 2023 season regular drivers Hiroaki Nagai and Manabu Orido. Again this season, the team will compete on Michelin tires. As for car No. 31, there will be a change in both regular drivers, with Danish driver Oliver Rasmussen making his debut in SUPER GT. There are big expectations focused on this young 24-year-old driver who has experienced podium finish in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Joining him as teammate is the female driver, Miki Koyama. Having served as the team’s third driver last season and also having participated in the SUPER GT Official Tests from apr. Koyama has proved her capabilities and will be the focus of high expectations as a regular driver this season. As for the third driver, Yuki Nemoto will be the back-up driver for the third year. With these members, the team will be looking for its first win driving the LC500h machine. The Saitama Green Brave team that won the 2023 championship will once again be competing with its own team-developed GT300 regulation GR Supra and will be aiming to recover the title with the driver pair of Hiroki Yoshida and Seita Nonaka like last season. Joining the team for the first time as the third driver will be Rikuto Kobayashi, who gained experience drive the No. 30 GR86 car last season and was winner of the 2023 FIA-F4 championship title. The No. 60 LM corsa will be driven again this year by Hiroki Yoshimoto and Shunsuke Kohno as its regular drivers, and its machine has been changed to the Syntium LMcorsa LC500 GT based on the LC500. The No. 96 K-tunes Racing will again be entered as the K-tunes RC F GT3 in the 2025 series with the veteran driver pair of Morio Nitta and Shinichi Takagi.
