In preparation for the 2027 SUZUKA 1000km race, the three entities of SRO, Honda Mobilityland, and GTA are making an appeal for their new cooperative relationship. And they are further strengthening this relationship by including SUPER GT GT300-class cars in the race.

At the 50th Suzuka 1000km race, Round 4 of the 2026 Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) held at Suzuka Circuit on September 13th (Sun.), a commemorative photograph was taken of the three representatives, Stéphane Ratel, CEO of the SRO Motorsports Group, President and Representative Director Tsuyoshi Saito of Honda Mobilityland Corporation, and Masaaki Bandoh, President & CEO of GTA Co., Ltd. in preparation for 2027. This represents the start of activities for the new collaborative association between SRO and GTA.

It has been decided that in 2027 the “SUZUKA 1000km” race will be added to the GT300 class of the SUPER GT series. This new effort will be conducted as a program conducted jointly by SRO and GTA. IGTC cars used in the races run by SRO and cars competing in the SUPER GT GT300 class are set to gather at Suzuka Circuit, promising a Suzuka 1000km race with a more international flavor than ever before.

Due to the fact the GT500 class cars will not compete in the 2027 SUZUKA 1000km race, there is a possibility that GT500 class drivers will compete by driving GT300 class cars, etc., which will be another point of interest.
