【Round 1 Okayama: Race Day】 Joint Press Conference Held by AUTOBACS SEVEN Senior Managing Director Shinichi Fujiwara and GTA President & CEO Bandoh

On April 12, race day of the season‑opening OKAYAMA GT 300km RACE, GTA Co., Ltd. once again held a joint press conference with AUTOBACS SEVEN Co., Ltd., the title sponsor of the SUPER GT series for the 2026 season.

The press conference took place in the briefing room at Okayama International Circuit and was attended by Shinichi Fujiwara, Senior Managing Director of AUTOBACS SEVEN Co., Ltd., and Masaaki Bandoh, President & CEO of GTA.

Mr. Fujiwara first noted that AUTOBACS SEVEN is celebrating its 28th consecutive year as the series title sponsor of SUPER GT. “On behalf of all the sponsors, I would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone involved in the series. We believe that exciting racing will once again be delivered at every round this season, bringing great enjoyment to fans through outstanding performances,” he said. Mr. Fujiwara also announced that, as in previous seasons, prize money of 10 million yen will be awarded to the champions of both the GT500 and GT300 classes. “All teams will be competing throughout the year with this goal in mind. We sincerely hope that everyone can race safely and deliver the highest level of performance. We deeply appreciate your continued passionate support and cooperation throughout this season,” he added.

GTA President & CEO Bandoh expressed his appreciation for AUTOBACS SEVEN’s long‑term support, “I believe this partnership is truly unique, having worked together as one organization for such a long time. When something becomes routine, there is always a risk of forgetting how valuable it really is. That is precisely why we make a point of properly holding this joint press conference with AUTOBACS at the opening round every season.” He continued, “We feel extremely fortunate to be able to work together with AUTOBACS as our title sponsor. By continuing to strengthen this sense of a shared ‘community’ and deepening our relationship as a true win‑win partnership, we aim to contribute further to the development of motorsport in Japan.”
