After what happened in the last round at Suzuka, where we qualified second due to a mistake of my own and with Igor Omura Fraga, who ran in Q1, seemingly determined to top the timesheets every time, and he told me it was all down to my performance in Q2 (wry smile). I’m glad we managed to clinch pole position this time. The No. 60 car in the GT300 class also runs on Dunlop tires. Since this is the final season featuring multiple tire manufacturers, I hope we can both win tomorrow’s race and make it a “Dunlop week.”

Hiroki Yoshimoto:“I’ve driven plenty of fast cars over the years, but I’ve always let my teammate take all the credit—until today (laughs).
