While the second 3-hour race of the season, the AUTOPOLIS GT 3Hours RACE, Round 7 of the 2025 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series awaits its curtain to open on October 19th, an announcement on a new series award in SUPER GT was made before GTA’s regular press conference.
Kasumigaseki Capital Co., Ltd., a series partner of SUPER GT, operates world’s first self-hospitality hotel, seven x seven. The company has joined SUPER GT as a series partner from this season and sponsors the entire series. All race cars in the GT300 class carry a seven x seven logo on the windshield by the partnership. In addition, the company’s mobility business department has formed the seven x seven Racing and competes in the GT300 class as No.666 car.
The newly established award, seven x seven series award, was introduced by Executive Director Tatsuo Higuchi during the announcement. “We expressed our intent to provide an award to the series champion team of this year, and our request was accepted (by GTA)”. Higuchi explained that the series champion teams of the GT300 and GT500 classes will be granted a privilege to stay at seven x seven Ishigaki hotel operated by the company on Ishigaki Island for 3 nights / 4 days and also a round-trip on a private jet that seats 8 people. He added that the company would be grateful if the whole team visits their hotel since the facility can accommodate up to around 30 people.
”For example, the fastest driver in the world (F1 champion), Max Verstappen, travels around the world in a private jet, and I believe fans and children admire that kind of lifestyle very much. If we can have the fans to see that the fastest team or driver in Japan can also experience that, then I think that will draw more attention and create more excitement. If the number one in the world can do it, then the number one in Japan should be able to do it too. That is the mindset that led us to create this award”. Executive director Higaki revealed the company’s intention is to support raising the popularity of SUPER GT by providing such luxurious prize. “It may be presumptuous for a new sponsor, but, although it may not have that much of effect, we just want to support SUPER GT to raise its popularity”.
After hearing the words from Executive director Higuchi, President & CEO Bandoh shared his experience at seven x seven Ishigaki, “The place has penthouse, sauna, and jacuzzi. The food is delicious, and the ocean is so nice with long shallow water. This can provide an opportunity for the team, mechanics, and drivers to feel the value of SUPER GT as a content. We are committed to continuing our partnership.”
The award will be granted at SUPER GT’s series award giving ceremony held in December, SUPER GT HEROS.
