Driver Interview Collection No. 20 asking with Daniil Kvyat of car No. 88

With the conclusion of the 2026 AUTOBACS SUPER GT Official tests at Okayama and Fuji, the opening round of the season at Okayama is fast approaching (held on April 11th and 12th).

With this, we interviewed some of the drivers who will be the focus of special attention, as well as rookie drivers and newly added drivers. As we look forward to the start of the series we offer their messages to the SUPER GT fans.

In this 20th edition, we will be talking with Daniil Kvyat, a former F1 driver who made his SUPER GT debut driving the No. 88 VENTENY Lamborghini GT3 for the 2024 GT300 class champion team.

* Interviewed at the Official Tests at Fuji

“In the Okayama Official Test, I experienced the high level of SUPER GT. I want to always compete to the best of my capability and with the aim of winning the championship title.”

Daniil Kvyat
No. 88 VENTENY Lamborghini GT3 (GT300 class rookie)

– Welcome to SUPER GT! This year you will compete in Japanese racing for the first time, and what’s more, it will be in the highly competitive SUPER GT series. How do you feel now?
I feel very positive about it. I had heard that in Japan, the competition is at quite a high level, and while driving in the Okayama Official Test, I found that to be true. So, I feel very happy now.

– The team you will drive for uses the LAMBORGHINI HURACAN GT3, would you tell us your impression of the car?
I have driven for a Lamborghini factory team, but I have hardly had any opportunity to drive the GT3 car (HURACAN GT3), and the first time I drove it seriously was at the Okayama Official Test. However, with regard to Lamborghini cars, since I have driven the LMDh (*) in long-distance races, I believe I can take advantage of that experience.

* Kvyat took part in all of the rounds of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) driving the SC63 (Hypercar class) car for a Lamborghini factory team.

– Having driven in the Okayama Official Test on the same Okayama Circuit that will be the stage of the season’s opening round, what is your impression of the circuit?
The circuit layout has a good balance of both high-speed corners and low-speed corners, which made it very enjoyable to drive on. However, because the run-off area is narrow, I believe that one has to be careful about that.

– The opening round of your first SUPER GT season is fast approaching. Will you tell us what your goals will be for this 2026 season?
At this point, I can’t say what my specific goals will be, but I intend to give it my best all the time. With this in mind I intend to try to win the championship title.

In the next and final interview, we will talk with Sven Muller, who has experience competing in the GT300 class in the 2017 and 2018 seasons, and in Europe he has long years of experience as a Porsche driver who drove the No. 666 seven x seven PORSCHE GT3R EVO. We hope you will look forward to it.
