On the April 13th race day of the opening round of the 2025 AUTOBACS SUPER GT season, the OKAYAMA GT 300km Race, GTA Co., Ltd, and the season’s Series Title Sponsor, AUTOBACS SEVEN CO., LTD. held a joint press conference.
At this conference, the Representative Director & Chief Executive Officer of AUTOBACS SEVEN CO., LTD., Yugo Horii, and President & CEO Masaaki Bandoh of GTA Co.,Ltd. were present to address the press.
As the first to speak, CEO Horii said: “I am proud that our company has been named title sponsor of SUPER GT. I am also glad to welcome all of the fans who came to this opening round. This year will see the first overseas round since 2019, and the first round in Malaysia since 2013. I feel that this is indeed a special year welcoming in a new era for SUPER GT. I feel that SUPER GT has the potential to generate even more appeal in Asia, and I hope to see it spread its inherent joy and excitement to a greater number of fans.”
He then went on to say: “AUTOBACS is dedicated to offering new ways to enjoy car life, and the company’s mission is to help built a culture around cars that is rewarding and sound, and with that aim in mind the company will continue to contribute to the evolution of life with cars.”
After this, GTA President & CEO, Bandoh spoke, expressing his gratitude: “I am very glad that (AUTOBACS) will be out title sponsor again this season.” Then regarding the Malaysia round: “Along with the Asian business policy of the people at AUTOBACS, we will be working to spread awareness of SUPER GT.” He then stressed the importance of the universal concept of “working together to build the foundation of Japanese motor sports” that has been cultivate through a long sponsorship. The President said with conviction in saying: “We are dedicated to holding races with cars that are fast and cars that are cool. But we also know that different people have different ways of enjoying cars, and we believe that racing is one of them. And since I believe that we and AUTOBACS share a lot in terms of the ways of enjoying cars, and since we want to go on creating a lot in the realm of car culture, I believe that we can succeed.”
