■Concern for tire preserving and timing of track entry makes for a subdued early stage of the qualifying with no quick rush of cars onto the track

The 20-minute GT300 class Official Qualifying started at 11:40 in the morning. With the Air temperature at a summer-hot 33℃. The session got off to a comparatively quiet start with four cars entering the track as soon as it opened, four more cars going out by 6 minutes into the session and nine more cars by 10 minutes after the session start.

The reasons why the cars did not all start out onto the track all at once as usual were the concern for tire wear since the designated tires could not be changed during the qualifying and the traffic (congestion) on the track, which probably led the teams to plan their strategies based on the qualifying track conditions and timing.
