2025 SUPER GT Sporting Regulations Art. 21 Tires 3. At the Practice Sessions the number of marked tire sets is restricted as follows. Before revision 2) Only one set of marking tires may be used in official qualifying. The race must be started with these marked tires. Therefore, before the start of Official Qualifying, the marking tires to be used for Official Qualifying will be marked for identification. Tire changes will be prohibited from the start to the end of Official Qualifying. (If the session is declared wet, the tires with the identification markings and the wet tires are allowed to be exchanged.) 3) Dry tires used in the warm-up run for the race start procedure may be any combination of marking tires.
After revision 2) Only one set of marking tires is allowed at Q1. Cars that do not proceed to Q2 will start the race with this same marked set. For this reason, the marked tire set for Q1 will be re-marked for recognition before the start of the Q1 session. Tire changes are not allowed from the start to the end of the Q1 session (when rain conditions have been declared, the re-marked Q1tires may be replaced for a wet tire set or vice versa.). 3) At Q2 only one set of marked tires can be used. Tire changes are not allowed during the Q2 session. After the end of the Q2 session, the marked tire set used at Q2 will be re-marked for recognition (when Wet Conditions have been declared, the marked tire set may be replaced by a wet tire set or vice versa.). The cars that run at Q2 will use either the Q2 marked tire set or the marked tire set used at Q1 for the start of the race. After the end of Q2, a lottery held by the Event’s Secretariat will determine the starting tires for the race. The lottery result must first be approved by the Competition’s Stewards of the Meeting before being announced in the Official Notice. 4) Cars may freely combine and use any of the marked dry tires at the warm-up run in the starting procedures prior to the Race.
・With the qualifying format of totaling the recorded lap times, the number of tires that can be used was limited to one set throughout Q1 and Q2 in last season’s qualifying (it was later changed to one set each, applicable from Round 5 and beyond), but for this season the number of tires that can be used is clearly defined as one set for each of Q1 and Q2. Each set of tires will be marked and permitted to be used in respective session only. Tires may not be used interchangeably between sets. ・Dry tires (4 tires in 1 set) to be used for the start of race must be from tires used in Q1 or Q2 of qualifying. ・For a car that was eliminated from the qualifying after Q1, the tire set it used in Q1 will be the tires for the start of race. ・Car that advanced to Q2 must start the race with either set of tires used in Q1 or Q2. The tire set to be used will be determined by fair lottery conducted after Q2. ・If declared wet (use of wet tires will be permitted due to wet track surface) before the start of race, starting the race after changing to wet tires will be permitted.
